Dru serves as a member of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra where she plays clarinet and E-flat clarinet. In addition to her performances in Charlotte, Ms. DeVan frequently plays with the North Carolina Symphony. She has performed as a soloist, orchestral, and chamber musician throughout the United States, France, and Belgium. Ms. DeVan has appeared as soloist with the Savannah Symphony Orchestra, the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, and has been featured with the American Pro Art Quartet. She has participated in the International Academy in Nice, France, the Missouri Symphony Society Performing Arts Festival, Piccolo Spoleto, and Wildacres Chamber Music. Prior to joining the Charlotte Symphony, she served as clarinetist with the Savannah Symphony, principal clarinet with the Atlanta Lyric Opera Orchestra, and regular extra clarinet/E-flat clarinet with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Ms. DeVan holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Georgia State University where she studied with Alan Balter. She continued advanced clarinet studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Antwerp, Belgium, studying with the Belgian clarinetist Walter Boeykens. In the United States she has also studied with Robert Marcellus.
Ashley is Professor of Oboe at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She holds positions with the Greensboro Symphony and Salisbury Symphony Orchestras in addition to being a frequent performer through out the Southern region. An active clinician in North Carolina and Virginia, Barret is a member of the EastWind and Cascade Wind Quintets and spends her summers playing chamber music in the Adirondacks of New York. Barret’s degrees include a Doctor of Music from Florida State University, a Master of Music from Baylor University, and a Bachelor of Music from the Eastman School of Music. Her teachers include Eric Ohlsson, Doris DeLoach, Richard Killmer, and Hollis Ulaky.
Lori Tiberio is a member of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra where she plays bassoon and contrabassoon. She is also performer –in-residence at the University of North Carolina – Charlotte, instructor at bassoon at Davidson College, Artistic Director of the Providence United Methodist Church Recital Series, and woodwind coach for the Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestra. Her active performance schedule includes solo presentations of late twentieth-century compositions, and in 1996 she performed the world premiere of the Quartet Version of Daniel Dorff’s Concerto for Contrabassoon. Ms. Tiberio served as principal bassoonist with the Virginia Symphony, the Virginia Opera Association, and the Norfolk Chamber Consort. She has also been a member of the New Music Ensemble of Pittsburgh, the Colorado Philharmonic, and the Spoleto Festival Orchestra. Lori Tiberio holds two Bachelor of Music degrees from Carnegie-Mellon University, and a Master of Music from Temple University. Her primary bassoon teacher was Arthur Kubey, to whom she dedicates her work on this CD project.
